Kampfgruppe von Abt :: Class 52 Kondenslokmotiven and Morser Karl

Kampfgruppe von Abt Diorama April 14th 2007

This is our third KvA diorama of 2007. In this scene we see the mighty 154 ton Karl Mörser loaded on it's train. The engine is that WW2 workhorse of the German Army, the Class 52 Kondenslokmotiven.

This was a massive photo set to produce in one day. However, as I hope you can agree, the effort was worthwhile, and we produced one of our best photo sets to date. The train is all custom built by Peter Shaw, and measured about 18 meters long. I am sure you will agree, this is quite a feat of 1/6th scale modelling, one one that Peter should be proud of.

This was Kampfgruppe von Abt's second photo shoot using pyrotechnics. And it will not be our last! Great fun, and a great effect.

There is also a "Behind The Scenes" photo set, to give a small flavour of our day. Peter is the chap who built the train.
